generations...

I recently took my husband's grandmother, aunte, cousin and second cousin out to take their pictures.

Four generations of women.
Four beautiful women.

As I peered through the lens at each one of these woman, I thought of all the journeys each woman had been on, where they rooted from to where their life has led them.
It was amazing to think that three of these women were created by one.

These women shared a bond like only a woman can. Seeing your daughter grow up and carry on the legacy of your family is a precious thing to behold.
It made me long for the day when I can have my picture taken with my mother, my daughter and her daughter.

As scary a thought as that is, I see proof right in front of me of what a blessing it can truly be.

Beautiful!

I love the clever "Open-Shutter" word play! And I can see already this will be more of a teaching blog for some of us novices!!

Cool masthead, also!

thanks, Lauren!
I want to get all the cousins together (Margot included) and take their picture all together at once.
I think that would be great for Grandma Kermode to have! :)

So this is where you have been hiding. I wondered! I think this is great and will not remind you that it wasn't very long ago you were complaining about not being able to keep up with two blogs, how many is this? *wink*

I love the photos, I had to go check out all the posts I'd missed.

Those are gorgeous photos. I love to see the three of the pairs of ladies in successive order. It's really lovely. I love the colors you've chosen, too.
But, of course, you know how much I admire your photography...
BTW - I've made up my mind. It's a Nikon for me!

Shelly,
I will not acknowledge that comment you didn't just make! ;)

Ahna,
I am so excited you're getting a Nikon! you just won't know what to do with yourself.
I think the entire world passed me over for the first week I spent with my Nikon. I was in deep shmit! :)

I'd really like to do a 3 generation picture of you, Zoe and me. Too bad we no longer have 4 generations alive at the same time. The pictures turned out beautiful and I'm sure Jason's family is very pleased with your work.
